Neighbors are disgusted at the deplorable condition of the medians on Brickell Avenue. Weeds are overtaking unkempt hedges, there's trash and dirt where there should be grass or groundcover. Decimated “monuments” mark what should be a beautiful Avenue for the City of Miami.

Brickell resident and business owner Charles Tavares walks the Brickell area daily and wonders Why? Why are our streets and sidewalks so poorly maintained when Brickell is Miami's premier location? Sidewalks broken, littered and full of markings by various utility companies with no regard (and apparently no limits) on the visual blight they are creating with their handy visuals. Streets that flood with even the most minimal of thunderstorms. Swales littered, not maintained and left to stone and dirt. Why is it like this? Warning: if you care about Brickell, these photos are disturbing.
